Victory Capital Donates $60,000 to the Robb School Memorial Fund (Uvalde, Texas)
Gift includes a corporate donation, employee giving funds, and a matching gift from Chairman and CEO, David C. Brown
Employees from Victory Capital presented a $60,000 gift benefiting the Robb School Memorial Fund to Uvalde Consolidated Independent School District (Uvalde CISD) officials on Wednesday, June 22, 2022. One month ago, 21 lives were lost at Robb Elementary School in the horrific school shooting in Uvalde, Texas. These innocent lives included 19 children, all fourth graders, and two beloved educators.
In response to the tragedy, Uvalde CISD created the Robb School Memorial Fund to support the victims and their families. Victory Capital and our employees generously responded to the call to contribute to the Robb School Memorial Fund.
The financial gift from Victory Capital included a corporate donation and funds donated by our employees. David C. Brown, Chairman, and CEO of Victory Capital, also provided a personal matching gift.
Nikhil Sudan, President of the Direct Investor Business for Victory Capital, presented the monetary gift to Uvalde CISD representatives.
“Our hearts break for the innocent lives lost in this horrific tragedy,” stated Sudan. “On behalf of Victory Capital and our employees, we are here to demonstrate our respect and solidarity with the victims, their families, and our neighbors in Uvalde.”
Victory Capital Announces the Victory Capital Scholars Program and Strategic Alliance with Xavier University of Louisiana
In 2021, Victory Capital launched a strategic alliance with Xavier University of Louisiana that is comprised of the Victory Capital Scholars Program and seeded funding for an Investment Club. Through this collaboration, it is our goal to continue promoting equity and social mobility, while advancing students of color interested in pursuing careers in the asset management industry and providing them with hands-on learning opportunities.
Victory Capital Supports Red Cross Disaster Relief
In the wake of the 2021 severe weather and the related water and power outages in Texas and across the country in early 2021, Victory Capital and our employees supported Red Cross Disaster Relief through an employee giving campaign, corporate donation and a matching gift from Victory Capital CEO David Brown. These efforts helped the Red Cross serve more than 81,000 meals and snacks to those in affected communities, distribute 16,400 comfort kits or relief supplies to help people with recovery, provide 7,700 overnight stays in Red Cross partner shelters and warming centers, and more.
San Antonio Employees Volunteer for San Antonio Food Bank
In December 2020, a number of Victory Capital's San Antonio employees volunteered with the San Antonio Food Bank and its crisis relief food distribution. The San Antonio Food Bank has fought hunger and fed hope during the pandemic and beyond. We’re honored to support their efforts!
Community partnership with The Children's Hospital of San Antonio
Founded in 1959, The Children’s Hospital of San Antonio is the leading children’s hospital in South Central Texas entirely dedicated to the care of children in a 90-county area. The facility provides quality, innovative care specifically designed to meet the unique needs of children.
Victory Capital partnered with the Hospital to provide "care packages” to families with infants in the Hospital’s Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (“NICU”). Items included in the care packages were donated by Victory employees, who also volunteered to stuff and deliver the bags!
Teaming up for a good cause
Victory Capital has also partnered with the Hospital to provide emotional care for children with serious medical conditions by creating a joyous and memorable experience at the San Antonio Spurs home games! Each child that participated in the program received two courtside seats to a home game along with club access amenities and parking and/or transportation.
Victory Capital CEO Dave Brown meets with Axel, the first child to attend a Spurs home game through our partnership with CHofSA.
